Dr. Stilts is a native and resident of St Croix, United States Virgin Islands. He has an Associates Degree, in Film and Video from Full Sail University. Dr. Stilts served a term in the United States Army and is an Iraqi War Veteran with the 3rd infantry division. Dr. Stilts currently is a teacher at the Elena Christian Jr. High School.

Dr. Stilts has been dancing as a Moko Jumbie since the age of 10. He started dancing at the Ricardo Richards Elementary School and continued during high school and college. Amir has performed at many different events in the Caribbean, United States and Europe. Now as a senior member of the “Guardians of Culture Moko Jumbies”, Dr. Stilts performs and volunteers his time every Saturday to teaching the art form to the younger students at Ricardo Richards Elementary School and Elena Christian Jr. High School. He has dedicated his career as a Moko Jumbie to preserving the art form, as it has been passed on from Africa and carried to the Caribbean by enslaved Africans. This year he plans to combine his skills in film and as a Moko Jumbie to develop a structured video lesson plan & documentary about the art form.

15 years of dynamic stilt performance experience, with repertoire including various theme parks (Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Carambola Beach Resort, Divi Carina Bay Resort, Chenay Bay Beach Resort, Comorant Beach Hotel, Downtown Freemont Street Experience, and numerous performances for corporate and business clientele (AT&T’s (Innovative), Las Vegas Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, SOB’s (NYC) Need More, etc.). Nevis Culturama, Miami Carnival, NYC Labor Day Carnival, Atlanta Caribbean Carnival, Orlando Carnival.
